Deciding on Wheel Colour for my 69

Ok. I have narrowed it down to painting the car either Black or a Darker Blue with Gun Metal SS Stripes.

I am going to be getting Forgeline SP3P w/ poliswhed lips (see attached picture). I need to get the wheels now before the car is painted so that i can mock everything up and start the fab work on the suspension, body, chassis to fit the wheels/tires.

So my question is given that I have two choices to paint the car at this point, do i get a Black center or Gun metal center on the wheels?

Please state your choice and reason why you made that choice.

My dad and I are in disagreement about the wheels, however, both of us are leaning to painting the car black with gun metal SS Stripes.

He wants Black centers on the wheels because "it will look cool all black".



I want Gun Metal Centers on the wheels to accentuate the SS Stripes and also because i feel if the wheels are black, then you will loose some of the lines of the car because there will be too much black.

I vote for the Forgelines with the gunmetal centers. If you need some more pics to help with the decision, I've got a set on my 05 Mustang with the powdercoated centers.

I love black wheels. I painted my wheels black and whatever new wheels i end up with will be black. But on you car I think Gun Metal would look best.

After thinking about it some more, I'd vote black too, unless you invert your paint scheme (which could look really killer too.)

I did gunmetal wheels to match my mineral grey paint. In this case it's best to match your wheels to your body color.

Gunmetal would look great against an Indigo Blue, but Black also looks killer with black.

I think the gunmetal would go best with anything. Then again, I'm biased because that's what I would want on my car. You need someone to photoshop it for you.

Gunmetal. I think it would tie together with the stripe better that way, plus I just like gunmetal wheels. Less bLiNgY, I guess...

Ahh, I'm jealous!!! Those black SO3P's were the background on my desktop for months. If I could have any wheel in the world, it would be those. No need to say which I voted for!

Gun metal. Either way you dont want forglines disappearing in a sea of black. you want people to know you have cool wheels. Gunmetal will give you that pop. You'll see em better, and being a darker grey it'll mesh well with a black or dark colored car. Black would be over kill.
