sorta new guy
Hi all, I'm Jim, and while I've been registered here for a while, I haven't been around much. Thinking about changing that. Need to upgrade my brakes, and hoping to find some insight here as to what works, on the cheap.
I mostly hang out at Team Camaro, where I'm a regular to the point of obnoxious. I'm the electrical mod there.
My ride is a 68 Camaro vert that I've had for 6 years. I do a lil of this and a lil of that every winter, and back on the road every summer. Winter of 04-05 I got a lil carried away, what started as an underhood detailing turned into a repaint, new interior, and color change.
Last summer, I was annoyed to find my 327 spitting cast amounts of oil out the breathers. A teardown revealed shattered top and second rings in #2. As long as it was apart, it went back together with an internally balanced Scat rotating assembly with 6" capscrew rods and SRP forged pistons. I also stumbled across a used TKO 500, and got that in too. Did the trans for $1300 clams, including the sale of my muncie and hurst shifter!
Anyway, here's a few pics:
