5" tach/speedo in 67-68 Covan's panel?
Just wondering if you can fit a 5" tach and speedometer in the 67-68 Camaro gauge panel from Covan's Classics. I know you can order the panel without any holes, but am not sure if there is enough room for the gauges. Anybody done or tried this?

I am not trying to be funny but why would you bother when they go right in the stock dash panel?

I agree. It looks much better in the stock panel as well.

That's how I have them mounted. I thought maybe they would look better mounted on a flat panel. Maybe not? At first I was looking at using the Covan's panel with the 3 3/8" and 2 1/16" gauges, but decided I really liked my big tach and speedo. I also like the console gauges down there. Makes it look like the cockpit of a fighter jet (or something cool like that
). I don't need 10 gauges either. I guess I should keep my stock cluster, but I want to add some turn indicators since I have been without them for some time. Anybody done that? If so, where did you get and mount the lights?

What I did is I ordered some amber 5/32" LED's and I drilled a hole on each side of the cluster to mount them. You can barely notice them! I havent finished my car yet so I dont know how bright they will be but I think they will be bright enough. Originally Posted by streetk14

I am wanting to add the same type gauges to my '68. Is there anything special to mounting these aftermarket gauges in the stock gauge pod? Or do I need to cut and grind? Thanks in advance.

i did the same but only for my 69 bought some of theose leds and thats my turn indictor and bright lights indicator fiarly cheap but i got mine from dse and i know they have some cheaper i have also seen them at autozone and a lot of car audio stores
