      Lowering - Everyday Driver '99 F150

This isn't exactly pro-touring, but my Dad has a '99 F150 ext. cab short bed. He just bought some '99 lightning wheels and is wanting to lower the truck. He drives it to work everyday, so nothing too radical. Airbags are out of the price range.

I though maybe someone on here might have done something similar to one of these trucks. I know there are about a million different kits out there, just looking for suggestions.

      Thanks,

      Brandon

      2wd

      Yes it is 2WD.

How much lowering do the control arms and flip kit give from DJM. The kit say something like 6" front, 4" rear. I'm not sure if I can sell him on that much or not. If it was mine, I'd go for it.

I wish DJM had some pics of customer's trucks.

Bell Tech has a 3", 4" kit that is springs and shackes and hangers.

Does anyone have any pics of lowered F150's and what kit they used?

Cut the springs and de-arch the rears is another option. The only thing would be if he went to sell it and someone didn't want it lowered, we wouldn't be able to put it back stock.

      I wish money wasn't a concern - We'd bag it.

But if money wasn't a concern, he wouldn't be driving a '99 F150 that he bought wrecked and fixed either.

The DJM kits should net you 4" front, 6" back.

Also the rear flip kit requires notching the frame - I'm positive I won't be able to sell him on that!

i personally am rolling a 3"-4" kit from suspensionmax.com.....around 400bucks and honestly cannot tell its lowered from a rougher ride like my s10 is. The truck handles alot better in corners and obviously looks better with a lot less tire to fender gap...i dont have any pics right now but i will try to get some soon and post for you to see even though i have no stock pics.
