      Hotwheels 68's

Anybody have any info on these? They look good, come in most sizes, and are (relatively) inexpensive.

So what's the catch?? hard to balance? poor finish?? what?

I'm thinking about using them on my 67 GTO, they kind of look like Pontiac rallye II's.

With the right paint scheme they could look similar to GM ss396 wheels too, and for 1/3 the price. I've been drooling over the Billet vintiques stuff, but no way i'm paying that kind of money

I ordered a set with the black centers in Dec. and still haven't recieved them. The rep said 60-90days when I ordered them, so I'm not upset, YET.

They are about $135.00 to $200.00 for 17 x 9's depending on the finish. Check out discounttire.com for more info.

I was thinking about doing a set of these for my 55. I haven't heard anything bad except they are on the heavy side, which isnt a big deal to me atleast.

Also I have heard that KMC is way behind on making them to keep up with demand..

      have them for my 68

bought the 68's for my 68 camaro.. could not resist the fact that they seem made for each other.. problem is 17x8 only size in 17" TIRES.. look great though putting on my car when the floorpan is done

see this previous thread for my poll on these sixty eight tires with 2 different colors for my 68

if you need a reference for sizing and backspace, i can offer that info:

i have a '67 with 15" wheels - rear is 15x8" weld wheels with a 5.5" backspace with 275/60-15 tires, and no rubbing

fronts are 15x7" with a 4.5" backspace - tires are a 235/60-15 with only a slight rub when hitting a bump in fast turns. never rubbed with 225/60-15s

you can see the car by clicking my link below:

I have a set of these for my 67 Firebird. I like the finish and overall quality, excellent considering price. Even more expensive wheels would not provide the "period look" of these wheels. I'm running 17x8 on front and 17x9 on back, I cant wait to drive it. I didn't consider these wheels to be very heavy, feel normal for their size, if that makes sense. I decied on these wheels for 2 major reasons, first was the look and second was the price, if I damage one, big deal, buy another.
