      They once accused Smokey of having a hidden fuel tank. He then proceeded to drain the entire tank, which was full at the time. When the tank had emptied itself of its contents, he hopped in the driver's seat, cranked it up and drove away.

      Yes, he did do this.

      The story about him firing it up without a gas tank is a Myth. He addressed this in a printed interview I have.
