1482 hp sbc for Hot Rod
We just finished the motor for Project F-bomb.David Frieburgers camaro.the motor made 1025 hp at 5900 rpm and 980 lbs of torque at 5000 rpm on pump gas and 1482 hp and 1441 ft lbs on 109 octane the motor had an easy 200hp left in it but we ran out of injector.We made over 31 pulls during the day and i got some really good video of the pulls I will post it when i convert it.The motor also made 18 inchs of vacumn at idle and idles around 700 rpm.

Without giving away too many secrets, can you tell me
who built the manifold ?
What size turbos ?
What size injector were you using that ran out on you ?

Were Using Some Of Our Own Design 72 Mm Turbos,the Manifold Again Is A Special Deal We Make.the Injector Was A 83 Pound Inj.

Tom,
Could you please post some more detailed pics of the intake manifold? I am planning on building a port manifold for my Vette as a school project. I have been doing a lot of reading on manifold design, but finding good quality pictures is pretty tough.

HOT ROD built a pro-touring car LONG ago. HOTROD1 (the green 69 conv. made from those repro bodies) looks pro-tour to me.
I believe this is for a 2nd gen camaro anywho.
Nelson builds some bad ass motors!

LONG AGO? Last year? You are talking about the one that was at SEMA in 04 right, the one that non of the gaps matched? I did not realize THAT was protouring.

They built a '67 probably 3 or 4 years ago called the "Crusher Camaro." It's got an all aluminum 632 big block, Baers, I can't remember what else. They just made it into a diecast. Originally Posted by Bill Howell

Tom,
Thanks for the pictures of the intake. I hope to be able to weld like that with a FEW more hours of practice. Can you tell us anything more about the manifold. It looks like you have incorporated a venturi affect into the plenum opening. Sorry for hounding you, but I am really trying to soak up as much about manifolds as possible right now.

Yes, to me, first gens with big wheels and tires and a nice suspension setup are pro touring. Crusher was early, but fits the mold. And yes, HOTROD1 is pure pro touring. Are you saying that the Detroit Speed suspension and mini-tubs are not standard-issue PT? Weird.
