17X9 Wheels on front of '67?

Will 17 x 9" wheels fit on the front of a '67? I know they've got more room to play with than a '69, and I can machine the offset to whatever I want, to tuck them perfectly, and rolling the front fenders is no issue whatsoever. I've looked and looked for a good 2 hours, but I havent found anyone who has it done on a stock subframe and suspension, drop spindles. Any info? Crossing my fingers here, as it's the minimum width the wheels I want, are...
      thanks in advance..

Look at CarlC's car. He's done a ton on his car that you could do too.

Didn't Stielow use the 17x9.5 on the front of the "Red Witch"? Seems like he had to split the front fenderwells, notch here, there and every where... But it fit. I'm interested in doing the same thing actually...

The Red Witch has 245 or 255s in the front. Charlie can correct me if I am wrong. The Mule has 275s, but Mark had to notch the front sub.
