      Converting a 700R4 from 4X4 to 2WD

      What exactly needs to change?

That's what I thought. Is there a heavy duty output shaft available?

The 2wd shaft will take a LOT of power before it breaks due to it being longer (absorbs shock loading better). Im doubtful you'll ever get the internals to survive any length of time at the power level it would take to break the 2wd shaft anyways.

Can you break a 2wd shaft? Im sure its been done but Ive never had a broken one in my shop....broken 4wd shafts on the other hand are pretty common.
GMC Syclone (currently wrecked thanks to the typical rubber headed VA driver not paying attention to his red stop light...oh and he didnt have insurance either)
