      LS1 Carb/distributor question

I know there are some good carb manifolds for the LS1 available. But is there a conventional electronic type distributor avaliable? Couldnt find one through internet search. Any ideas?

      Thanks, John

I saw an article in one of the magazines that converted an LS1 to carburetion and they used a front drive from GM that included a ford distributor and a mechanical fuel pump drive. I think it was chevy high performance that did the article.

Wegner sells a setup that will use a distributor and one that does not. Give Dan at Wegner Motorsport a call.

I'll second Jeff's recommendation. The folks at Wegner know more about running a carb on an LS1 than anybody. Wegner did the R&D for the GMPP manifold.

Give Dan a call, and he can sort you out.

Does anybody now, if the wegner front cover comes with all necessary spacers and so?
It looks to me, as if the cover incorporates a stepout for the distributor drive. So the water pump must likely be moved further out. Does that mean, that I would need another pump or is this done by spacers?
Can anyone supply me with good closeup pics? Wouldnt be nice to order something and have it shipped overseas, to find out it won´t fit.

      Thanks guys, John

It might be easier for you to shoot Dan an e-mail, I did not realize you were in Germany. [email protected]

You may have to use their water pump with the distributor drive.

Here are some pics that Nineball took at the PRI show.

      John,

Wegner has exactly what you need. They have all the spacers and adapters for however you want to do it: with distributor, with fuel pump, or whatever.

Call Dan, or send him an email.
