      pre-bent brake lines

I have a 67 camaro with hydroboost and 4-wheel Baer disc brakes, will the pre-bent brake lines from places like classic tube fit this set-up or will I have to modify them significantly?

I have the same brake setup and went with a complete custom stainless steel set from Classic Tube. FYI they supply Baer with the brake lines Baer sells through their site.

I had to drastically modify the rear brake lines to connect them to the calipers.

If you are going to use the Baer supplied master cylinder the front lines will work as long as you have the correct distibution block. If you are going to use the 1 1/8" MC, you may have to send Classic a template and they can make you custom lines.

Classic Tube provides great customer service, but I think I would go with Inline Tube next time only because of price. The set from Classic Tube was about $40 more than Inline.

If you are using the Baer/PBR rear caliper I would recommend 3/16" diameter hardlines. This includes the hardlines on the differential and the front crossover.

I am not doubting you, but could you elaborate?

The PBR caliper design requires a much higher line pressure than the the stock caliper or brake cylinder. The OEM designed size for the PBR is 3/16", and there has been, and I am experiencing, problems with using the larger stock 1/4" diameter line. Though the system is theoretically incompressible, the larger line has more fluid compression and line expansion than a 3/16".

Personally, I like AN type fittings and stainless line more than SAE type.

Thats what I thought you meant. Thanks for clarifying.

      1/4" Brake line for rear

Carl did the reduction from 1/4" to 3/16" brake line for the rear make a difference in the way the brakes worked? I know you had said you were in the process of trying this. Thanks Mike
