Actually I know of 3 painters who deal with hobbyist.

One is a a guy who painted my friend jeremys mustang. He Paints in his barn and does amazing good work. Magazine quality detail. 317-441-2331

Another is Jerry he restores '69 & '70 Boss 302's, Mach's and Boss 9's pm me for his number.

The guy I am using has had a few of his cars in magazines plus his clients. I went to him because he specializes in late model mustangs.

I am in the home stretch with my current '89 mustang GT which has become a Mach 1 feel to it. Mach hood, mach 17" wheels, striping, and the words Mach 1.

Then I will sneak home the next project,

I've thought about buiding a Maverick at some point in time. I've thought about building a lot of things, but anyway. Have you looked at or considered Fatmans strut suspension for you Maverick. It used Fox or SN95 mustang struts, spindles and brake setup. On his site he list that only the early Mavericks are compatible though. I'm not sure what changed on them after the first few years?????

Just thougth I'd throw that out there.

I'm located near Lawrenceburg, Indiana (20 miles from Cincinnati, OH). I'd hate to count how many times I've blasted around Indy on my way back and forth to Purdue (back in the college days).

I've also got an '89 LX coupe that sorta has a Mach 1 feel. I've been debating (saving $$$) on wheels and am thinking of Mach 1 wheels for it. I'd like to see some pics of your mustang if you have some.

thanks for the recommendations on the painters, im in fishers where you located. i became prety familiar with fox body cars a few years ago, have had 4 of them, cant say me owning them did the cars any good though, they sure take a beating. had to change the heater core in every one of them, figured out how to do it without removing the dash, just takes sacrificing some forearm skin instead.

The heater core in my Mustang was leaking when I bought it. I took the entire dash out!

What year is your Maverick? A friend of mine just acquired a '74 from his elderly neighbor. I prefer the earlier years, but they are all pretty cool. I like to see people building cars that you don't see every day!

I bypass all my heaters, no a/c, no windshield wipers unless its raining. Racecars don't have heater cores. ha ha

I like the 70-71 maverick grabbers and comets with the wee little bumpers and not the ladder huge bumpers. Either way it would be bumperless and smoothed pans.
