Houndstooth Seat Covers for 4th Gen Seats

Well I decided to put in 4th gen seats into my 69 Camaro. Now I need to match them to my white Houndstooth interior. Anybody know of a place that sells Houndstooth seat covers for 4th gen seats? If not, anybody know of an upholstorer that can do it? I am willing to ship them.

      thanks,
      Frank

They are called Innovator Seat Covers. They only list the black skirt with black/white insert and orange skirt with orange/black insert. Here is the link http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=8

      Two things:

      1. Check the NextGen (82-02 camaro) parts website, they're there.
      2. Bad news, they only offer seat covers in black or orange, both with houndstooth.

I have seen houndstooth material by the yard,on a web site, or in a catalog, somewhere, but I'm having a senior moment, and can't remember where. So far, I just checked Year One, Classic Industries, NPD, and Paddock. All of them do not list it in their catalogs, so save yourself the trouble of looking there. If I happen to recover from this senior moment, and find it, I'll post it. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but it's a step in the right direction. Also, you can look for 30th anniversary front seats. They were white with houndstooth centers/ inserts. You would just have the 30th anniversary logo embroidered on them. Or, try Katzkin http://www.katzkin.com/05/FC/mainFS.html and see if they can help you out.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Thanks for all the info guys, I called Year One before seeing these posts but I still saved the time from calling the other places. Y1 told me the same thing, only black or orange. I was about to purchase the 30th anniv seats but in grey, but now I will hold out. I will look into the fabric and also wait and see if a set pops out on eBay.

You could also try giving Jason aka Datsbad a call over at http://www.gforcedesignconcepts.com/

He did the seats in his LeMans Blue 69. Maybe he'll tell you who did them. I would also love to know since I plan on doing the same some day.

I'm going to try some of these links and people, but I'll ask anyway since this thread is a little old.

I was planning on doind a yellow/black interior and I like the yellow/black houndstooth seats. If you've never seen that color combo before check out classicindutries.com. Has anyone seen the yellow/black houndstooth on forth gen seat? (Front and rear).

Let me know if you haven't had any luck. I know of a place that sells the houndstooth by the yard. They carry just about every color of houndstooth that was made.

A guy here in town says he can get the yellow & black houndstooth for the 4th gen seats. I have never had this type of work done, so those of you who have had these type seats stiched up what kind of cost should I look for? Basically just a re-cover, mostly black material with the houndstooth in the middle and back. I am meeting him tomorrow.

Scott, I hope you can be a lifesaver. Yes I am still looking for them. Purchased Recaros but I like the look of the 4th gen seats with white w/black&white houndstooth better. Does it matter if I prefer 4th gen Trans am seats rather than Camaro?

Frank The TA or Firebird seats are different. We can't use the patterns for the Camaro seats on them. Yes it can be done. Which seat do you want the TA articulating seat with lumbar, and side bolster support, or the softback Firebird seats. It normally cost $600 to do the front seats. The rears are $500 to repad, and recover them. The TA or Firebird seats cost a little more because the patterns will have to be made. The covers that YR1 now sells is a marine vinyl, it wears well, but is not as nice as the Allante simulated leather. I also have nice core seats for both the articulating, and the standard style. By personal choice I like the softback seat, and delete the headrest for more of a retro look.

      Scott
