Chris Dirkschneider's - Fool's GOLD the 'strike' Formula - Hood options?!

Hello, I'm Chris and the owner and builder of Fool's GOLD the 'Strike' Formula. That being said, I absolutely love the Formula Ram Air hood, and I do not want to cut up this hood! It is a factory original and it is in excellent condition.

My issue is, I am currently in the process of building the car (the Protouring treatment) and I am going with a carbureted LS3, which will absolutely not fit under this hood. I also don't want the 'CHiPs' hood! I currently am working on using a 1976 Trans Am hood that I located and using an SCCA Trans Am racing Mega Shaker scoop.

But I would love to see what other people have done or are doing to get past the issue of hood clearance on these early 2nd Gen hoods. Really looking for something that isn't blocky but still maintains the twin snorkel. Anyone out there with something like that?!

I have no first hand knowledge but I have heard that the aftermarket 70-74 Formula hood has a bit more clearance due to different under hood stiffening.
If it breaks I didn't want it in the first place.
