      C4 brakes

I have a LOT of old stuff from the early Pro-Touring days of brake upgrades sitting on the shelves.

NEW Big Brake C4 calipers, C4 13 inch rotors, drum brake bearing hubs etc.

Tried to do a search about caliper brackets and anything else needed to mount on a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Convertible I am finishing for my wife. Just a driver. No autocross or track days. Would like to use this stuff IF possible otherwise just leave the stock front GM disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

Tried to call Korbin at Core3 as he was one of the go to guys 20 years ago however the phone message is full and cannot leave message.

Did a search here on the site and could not find much of anything anymore about using PBR calipers and big rotors.

As such anyone got any old used PBR C4 caliper brackets, drum brake spindles for a GM 68-72 A body and anything else I might need for the conversion?

I look forward to hearing from any of you for an old guy want to stay 20 years behind the times!

I run C4 12" brakes with drum spindles on my 1968 GTO. I love it as a cheap upgrade, and consumables are cheap. The pin mounting is not idea, and they do not hold up for more than 15 minutes during a slow HPDE session.

I'm currently looking to upgrade, but I don't know what.

I would not do this again unless I needed something to fit behind 15" wheels.

I'm pretty sure I have some of Dave Pozzi's design C4 to drum brake spindle brackets around. I might even have a set or two of calipers and baskets.. I'll take a look. I still have the original set of these I made in the mid 90's on my 68 camaro convertible. They had been on the coupe until it got c6 z06 corvette 6 piston brakes.

On the c4 stuff, It's been a while but I think disc brake spindles worked too with a milling/mod to the top bolt pad height. New versions of those spindles and hubs are available too.

I also designed and made a similar bracket setup for the C5 corvette front caliper brackets and still have a couple sets of those around.

On my winter list to try is using JL8 brackets and Wilwood's 6 piston c2/c3 calipers on a camaro/chevelle spindle, while staying inside a 15" rally wheel.
