Steering Box Seal Dilemma

Hello everyone

Had my local shop swap pitman arms to my new Delphi box, didn't notice this till I got home and I'm about to install it.

I'm thinking the pitman arm should be touching the seal, thus holding it in place so it doesn't become loose. Am I on the right track?



About to bolt it all together and want to confirm first.
Would appreciate any help or feedback.

Nope, there should be a bit of space like a quarter inch or so between the pitman arm and the seal. The seal is a press fit and does not need anything to hold it in place.
