      Spring Rate On My Daily?

Hi. I'm new here. This is my First Post. I know nothing about suspensions (or about of anything else if you exclude tequila), and I have always considered suspension tuning a "dark art" that is best left to the experts. But I'm a car (and motorcycle) guy, and I hate to let anyone touch my car, even if it is just a beat-up daily driver. So, I'm here to learn about suspension and see if I can maybe upgrade what I have.

My question for today is this: Does anyone here happen to know what the spring rate is on stock springs (front and rear) on a 2013 Honda Fit Base Model with manual transmission? I am unable to find this information on the Internet. It may be marked on the spring itself, but I did not see it the last time I had the wheels off.

      Thanks.

Maybe try a search first. I'm seeing quite a few threads about that very question:

      https://www.google.com/search?q=fit+...&dpr=1.5&aic=0

Next options are Reddit and/or Facebook groups dedicated to the platform.

You are very likely the first person to ever ask a question about a Honda Fit on this forum. If you're not getting answers on a dedicated forum, you're unlikely to get them on this one.

      Thank you, sir. Duly noted

One last question: Spring rates are marked on the parts themselves, correct? If so, then mine should be marked somewhere. I'll just have to find it. Unless it was a label, and the label fell off.

      Thanks, again.

Look up autocross or SCCA groups in your area on Facebook. Someone they're might be able to help, if not know someone with a set of scales so you can corner measure your car and have a better starting point for spring rates.

Thank you. That's good advice. The Fit is often used in autocross.

I am very good with the interwebs:

For a 2013 Honda Fit (GE8) on stock suspension, all trims use essentially the same stock spring rates, and the best available measured data says:

      Front spring rate: ≈ 1.7 kg/mm ≈ 95 lb/in

      Rear spring rate: ≈ 2.0 kg/mm ≈ 112 lb/in

These numbers come from owners who’ve had the OE springs measured or back–calculated them; Honda doesn’t publish spring rates in the service manual. A FitFreak thread cites 95 lb/in front, 112 lb/in rear for 2009+ Fit (GE8), which includes the 2013 model year.

So for your 2013 Fit base manual, you can safely work with:

      Front: ~1.7 kg/mm (95 lb/in)

      Rear: ~2.0 kg/mm (112 lb/in)

Thank you, John. I will make note of those numbers.
