427 LS into 69 Camaro
I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I purchased a 427 LS3 engine to transplant into my 69 Camaro. I did a ton of research, but evidently not enough. The engine is complete from intake to oil pan. The oil pan is the problem. The car has ridetech suspension with Tru-Turn front end. I was told by several vendors that the 302-1 was the oil pan I need to fit a 4.125 stroke and fit into the Camaro. ridetech had done it in the past. I found out today that they only got it to fit after they notched the subframe. Is there anyone out there that has first hand experience with this transplant? The 302-3 only takes a 4.0 stroke and 302-2 only a 3.65 if I remember correctly. I was going to use the Holley Blackheart LS swap kit because it maintains driveline angles and trans placement. The car currently has a T56M and I don't want to have to change out my drive shaft because I had to move the engine etc etc. Is there any other bolt-on solution out there that clears subframe, clears Tru-Turn, and clears 4.125 stroke?
