      LS427 engine cover options...

Hey all. Looking for what options I have for engine covers for an LS427. I'm not sure what's compatible with what. I'm eyeballing the covers from the 2014-15 Z28 (p/n 12653293 and 12653294) or maybe the ones from the C6 Z06 (original p/n 12574619 and 12574620, updated p/n 19433424 and 19433425). I would think that any LS7 cover would fit, but wanted to check before I picked anything up. Do any others possibly fit?

      Thanks. -Rich

So on my LS3 swaps I used stock Corvette coil covers but modded them to call out the car I had them in. Used 1/8" bar stock to fill the stock Corvette logo. And then had a local graphic shop make me a decal calling out the project car name.Name: IMG_0816.jpg

That's awesome. That was going to be the plan if I got the LS7 Corvette versions to cover up the Corvette name. So did you have to mod them at all for fitment or was it any LS3 cover was going to fit on any LS3 engine?

So I haven't done a LS7 but on the LS3 covers they clip onto the fuel rails and the studs on your valve covers (2 on each side) fit into recessed ports in the coil covers. I think you will need to change your fuel rail fitting from the 90 to a straight like on my LS3.
The profile of the LS3 intake is different than the LS7 intake. So I can't say if the LS3 coil covers will fit or look right.
In regards to the 1/8" strip. I cut it to fit and then taper the underside of the 1/8" on each end so it fits the end of the cover taper.
To hold it on the cover I drill and tap the 1/8" towards both ends for 6/32 bolts. Drill and tap the 1/8". Buy 4 6-32 set screws. Screw them in almost all the way. The tack weld them so they won't turn. Then body work the 1/8" so its perfectly flat. Paint and add the graphics.Name: 006 (2).jpg

Came out looking good. Yeah, I figured an LS3 cover would probably need to be modified to fit the LS7. If I find some cheap ones to play around it, I'll go ahead and try it. Thanks for the feedback.

I have that same engine in my ‘68. Being that it’s a wet sump LS7, it has an oil fill cap and dipstick. I’m not sure if that interferes with the Corvette coil covers or not.
