      C&R heatexchanger, VA Condensor, 2CoreRad, Whipple2.9 68 Camaro overheating

Engine is 388 with whipple 2.9 with, tuner stated with forced fan on dyno it stayed at 217 deg on an 86 degree day.
Entropy 2 core 1" tubes Radiator, dual 11" SPAL fans full shroud, C&R "C5" size air to water intercooler, VA Gen4 Condenser, 11x12 transmission cooler and 2"x10" pwr steer cooler, 187 OEM thermostat. Same set up ran a rock solid cool commanded 200-205 with 525hp ls3 build prior to swapping in sleeved 388, whipple and intercooler.

This combo, at idle stays at 195 np, once underway slowly creeps up to 227 when NOT at fwy speed as soon as hits traffic and or cruising around a neighborhood starts to climb, then back on fwy will drop a few degrees but nowhere back to commanded 205-210, just holds high current temp, not up not down.

Note car does not have a hood on it and A/C is not on, does have a front lowe dam, top of rad has a close out and all gaps have been sealed with foam between all radiators to prevent recirculation of hot air and force all incomming air through rads. Air has been burped, and running dex cool with water wetter, brushless HV water pump, no change.

Currently have on order Entropy Single core with 2" tube rad with full shroud duel 13" HPX fans. Vendor stated the thinner, larger single 2" tube rad has in house tested to outperform their 2 core dual 1.25" tube radiator with 11" spals.

Concept is the higher flow through performance of less restrictive rad help larger fans wick away heat at cruising speeds and stop creep up once intercooler starts contributing to heat soak situation.

Is any one running similar set up with better results?

If it were me I would have tried the Vintage Air Monster fan. It’s a Spal brushless fan similar to the Corvette fan used by Stielow and others. Or just use the Corvette fan and Carls controller.

Fans don't have any impact on temperature going down the road, that's shroud and radiator as far as cooling system design. Fans help cooling when sitting still or very low speed driving. Now the bigger hole in the shroud for larger fans helps going down the road, but that's just because your shroud is blocking less airflow.

Thanks for schooling me Steve. The monster fan includes a high flow shroud FWIW….

I think the monster fan would help moving at speed in this case because the Denso core is so dense and because the cooling stack is so thick. It will create negative pressure on the engine side of the core.

The Spal dual fan shroud that the OP has uses flaps that should open at speed. In this case they may not be opening due to the Denso core and thick stack. I had that same dual Spal fan on my LSA equipped Camaro with my C&R radiator and intercooler. It never had an issue with 600 rwhp in the Texas heat FWIW…

BTW closeout panels like the ones from Undercover Innocations can help by preventing air from flowing over the core support.

I'd lean towards the engine needing to be burped. I'll bet there is a bubble trapped in the new engine somewhere. I actually had a similar thing happen when I added a brushless fan to my Nomad. Same radiator ran at 187-189 rock solid. After I removed the radiator to paint and mock up the C7 fan I added, it was running hotter. Somewhere around 195-198. Tried burping squeezing the hoses to try and burp, but it didn't help. Then I parked it on a slope in my hard with the nose pointed pretty high up. That worked and on my ride into work this morning it was back to 187-189 while moving.

I wasn't schooling you! Just clarifying to the OP. The VA shroud and fan is a very nice piece, totally agree!

Received my entropy radiator in week and half and had to be manufactured to boot, killer time. Looks like a quality product planned to install this weekend and test out in hundred degree plus weather.
