      Big Bend Open Road Race?

Just curious if there is any interest in going to the big bend open road race out in west Texas April 19-22nd 2017? I understand its alot more of the upper end cars such as corvettes but i am fairly interested in going. Additionally if there is anyone in the Houston area wanting to go, could set up a convoy.

I'm interested in going, depending on my work schedule at that time.

      Resurrecting an old thread.

Does anyone here participate in the Big Bend Open Road Race? I have been a course worker for the last 3 runnings. It is definitely a fun event and a good way to prove out your car.

I have been participating in the Sand Hills Open Road Challenge since 2017 and plan to add BBORR to my annual pilgrimages.

My son and I raced last October and hope to race again in the future. Race is very well organized and local participation in Fort Stockton and Sanderson is awesome.

I believe that they will recognize your credentials from Sandhills allowing to you to race in the faster classes too

I was there as a course worker about 4 miles south of the Fort Stockton starting line. What were you driving and number?

2019 ZL1 1LE with lots of mods; way too loud in my opinion lol
We had a blast and actually surprised ourselves finishing 6th in touring 110 class (the largest), -00:01.104 off target as rookies

Awesome. That's a pretty good finish. Is it possible to be too loud?

I like loud cars, but this thing is obnoxious; almost a shriek.

no way you could stand near it during dyno pulls without ear protection

My car is supercharged and has an aftermarket exhaust and cold air intake. It also has a high-pitched noise. Luckily, it's not bad from the driver's seat. I hear it can be pretty intense from outside when I'm at or above 6000 rpm and high load.
I've gone through the exhaust several times making improvements to bring the volume to something that is appropriate for daily driving.

That's a bummer. However, you wouldn't be the furthest participant. These events, BBORR, SORC, and SSCC bring participants from all over the country.
