      Chemical Guys?

anyone here used the Chemical Guys products? what do you think. any good? worth the money?

I have a couple cars that could use a bit of cleanup and paint correction.

Their compounds are pretty weak sauce imho. I prefer 3D compounds and polishes. They are having 25% off.

Here’s a quote I saw this morning from another person re CG compounds:

I've been using the Chem guys compounds and very unhappy with them. They are so slow and if using the foam pad they recommend you really have to get down on it and heat it up. I don't like doing that. No more Chemical Guys compounds for me.

Well shoot, I just bought some of their detail spray. Haven’t used any of it yet but at least it’s not as covering if it doesn’t work well. Cutting and polishing compound would be more worrying. For that stuff I get mine from the local paint supply store. I like to be able to talk to an expert and only get what they like.

Local paint store guy isn’t cutting and buffing paint most likely. Those guys like to push what they have and makes them money in my experience. A good paint forum like the SPI forum is a good place to get tips from pros.

No I’m not a fan of ceramic coatings or anything that doesn’t allow the paint to breathe. So a good detail spray is all I use.

From what I’ve read they’re decent. I’ve used Cquartz and Gyeon. Both better products

Chemical guys as a line is decent but you can find better products at each step in the line from different manufactures

I’ve used some of their v polishes on pretty decent paint. Worked well. If a lot of scratches and swirls look into Griots BOSS creams.

I agree. But this place the guys are a family shop and all in the paint game. I’m on the spi forum a bit and used their primers for the car. The rest came from this paint shop. For polishing they sold me the presta 2 stage compound. I don’t have a big background in the stuff but can say it is easy to work with and does give me a great result
