FS: Real Carbon Fiber Tall Valve Covers for BBC

Up for sale here is a nice set of real carbon fiber tall valve covers for OEM-style big block Chevy engines that use the factory-style 7-hole fastener pattern. I bought these a long time ago on eBay, and ran them on my Corvette road race car. I have switched up my power plant, so I no longer need these, and am passing them along. They are in pretty good structural condition, just a bit cosmetically challenged on the outside. They are clean, with no cracks or broken mounting holes, and the gasket rail is good shape. They are tall covers that fit over my Comp Cams pro-style rocker stud girdle. Each cover has a -8 AN (1/2" ID) male oil vapor fitting on the top, and I installed the billet oil fill fitting bung on one. I took it off so that I could clean the valve covers up for sale. It will be included in the sale, but not installed. The covers had holes on one end for vacuum fittings, which I filled, and I also reinforced the top portion of each valve cover with a single layer of fiberglass cloth that was bonded with extra-strength epoxy (you can see it in the pictures of the inside). I painted the covers a medium grey, but it's a bit tired with some scrapes, dings and bubbles. The covers could use a good sanding, priming, and recoat with the color of your choice. I had no leakage issues with these covers using the thick FelPro Cork-Lam gaskets (Fel-Pro 1630), but I did use valve cover spreaders to distribute the load around the sealing perimeter of the cover. You can see the marks in the gray paint where each spreader contacted the upper cover sealing surface on each side of the mounting bolt holes. Each cover is super light, weighing in at only 1 lb 3oz.
