      Ls2 cam sprocket

      Hey guys.
Having trouble starting my ls2 firebird. Seems to be because of the cam signal.
This is the sprocket that i have on the cam. Could that be the problem?

Are you running a gen3 or gen4 block? If it's a true LS2 it would be a gen4 block which doesn't have a rear cam sensor provision and you would need a new cam gear. You'll need the right gear for whatever ECU you are running either 1x or 4x. What ECU are you running? You'll also need an LS2/LS3 front cover that has a provision for cam sensor as well if you have a gen4 block.

Yes its a true ls2. 24x. I believe the ecu was an ls1. That all came from PSI
I have the correct cover and sensor in it but i guess theyre not measuring anything lol.
Looks like im gonna have to get my hands dirty again.
      Thanks for the reply!

If you have the cam sensor on the front cover you have the incorrect sprocket as Ryan mentioned above. Check out this link and look @ the A-D descriptions, will help you filter out what you need: https://www.lingenfelter.com//2007-1...ft-install-kit

The reason that I mentioned what ECU you are running is because if you were running Holley, there's actually a way for you to run no front cam sensor as an option. But PSI only works with stock ECU's so you'll want to make sure that you know what cam sensor you need. LS2's came with both 1x and 4x since they were a crossover engine. Check the crank sensor and check what color it is. Black crank sensors need a 1x cam gear and gray sensors need a 4x. You can also check the serial number on your ECU. If it's a 0411 or P01 they use 1x or if it's e38 or e67 they are 4x.

Okay. Thanks thats clear. I have the early ls2. 24x reluctor. Mostly wired up as an ls1 and an ls1 computer i believe. Id have to check my paperwork from PSI again. Quite certain the crank sensor was black.

Besides difficulty starting it appears not to affect performance. I might leave it till winter time.

I had similar issue. Ls3 but 24 reluctor wheel with cam sensor in cover. The wires going to cam sensor, the outer 2 at the sensor need be swapped. I am running a carb but have msd 6014. Read up on this . I forgot the correct explanation . Make sure u have the early 24 crank sensor in rear. Then use the tan sensor in front with wires reversed
