New guy, 1987 Turbo Buick

Hello all,

I've poked my head in here on a few occasions researching parts, but figured it was time to join. I have an 87 Buick Regal Turbo T that I've owned for 11 years. Found that I enjoy turning left and right vs just making repeat 1/4 mile blasts so I changed up the setup about 18 months ago. Front has ridetech parts including their HQ coilovers, Tru-Turn a-arm system, muscle bar, and new steering linkage along with a solid steering shaft. Rear has matching ridetech HQ coilovers, UMI upper and lower link bars, and HR Parts adjustable sway bar. Currently rides on 16x8 GTA replica wheels with 225/50 Continental Extreme Contact Sport and 255/50 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S in the rear. Front brakes were previously upgraded to 12" 4 piston Aerospace Components Pro Street kit. Considering changing wheels to 17's or 18's to help with tire selection and also allow larger brakes front and rear in the future.

This place has replicas of the GNX wheels in 18". I'd go 18x9" front with either a 245/40 or 255/40 (if it fits) and 18x9.5" rear with 275/40s.

I'm aware of the Gbodyparts replicas. They sell them in 18x8, 18x9, and 19x9.5. Not a huge fan of how they look on the cars in person and they are rather heavy @ 24lbs each. I'm considering the Billet Specialties Redlines black/polished or CCW classics in either 17x8/17x9.5 or 18x8/18.9.5

24lbs really isn't that bad, for a actual street wheel, yes, there is lighter, but some wheels that are sold in this country are 40-50lbs a wheel, and people actually use these on there cars! for the classic GN look I like those, what was the regular chrome GN wheel?? I remember it was crazy heavy! 30++ pounds, lighter= expensive, I know my 18x12 Fikse are 16lbs,

Stock T-type wheels are 17lbs and the current 16" GTAs are 18lbs. Stock steel chrome GN wheels are something like 28lbs give or take. Just trying to be mindful and not add a bunch of extra rolling weight if I don't need to.

I'm also a Jeep owner, wheels and tires are crazy for them, learned real quick on my 4dr, 35"s were 84lbs +rim, and the rims were rather light at 24lbs, I've seen 50+ per rim, I said no way, new one has light wheels and 37's, have to keep the weight down,
