Why don't you post in that thread and ask Yody for some info? I'm sure he would hook you up.

What year GN do you have? Post up a pic so we can check it out..

Nice brakes but they look tiny behind those huge 19" wheels.. Also, is that big thick spacer ok or does it not matter?

As much as I hate to say it... The brakes do look good. Not what I'd run(and that is supposed to mean absolutely nothing btw ) but none the less it looks good and I hope that they work well!

I'm not a member on that chevelle board, and I don't have a chevelle, apparently neither does "cody" so I figured this was a better site and though some of you guys might have done it also, I guess its not cool to ask questions here like this?? I'm new sorry. Heres some pics of my car(don't flame me for the 20's, I'm looking into some 3 piece CCW wheels, that should look like GNX wheels)

is that good enough? maybe i should post these in the newbie forum?

Wolfinator, don't take it personal. I don't think Frank or Steve's comments were directed at you. They've both had some bad dealings with one of the members on that website, that's why they posted as they did. Please feel free to ask any questions you'd like.

I'm not sure anyone else here has done that swap yet, but I know that www.precisionbrakescompany.com is going to be releasing kits with these brakes within the next few months.

No need to get defensive.. it's a car site.. it's cool to see a NEW MEMBERS actual car.. Maybe I missed where you introduced yourself..

And who said it "wasn't cool" to ask the question? Just suggested that Cody might have some info. It's as easy to register there as it is here and since he posts there you don't have to own a Chevelle (it would seem)

The CCW's would look good on that car.. try and stick with 18's max and preferably 17's. Nice car (well, other than the wheels ;) welcome to the site..

Oh, okay. Your posting just seems kinda hostile. I wasnt' being defensive, and didn't really take defense, no big deal. I want to make my GN more PT, so the chevelle site really won't help much. The GN sites are cool, but not many people are into PT there, most are into drag racing(my car has ran low 12.00's as is) I think wheels like yours but in CCW would be perfect, but definetly 18's and some R compound rubbe. 17's apparantly won't fit much of a brake.

what exactly does that mean?? a replacement? These brakes drew me to them because they aren't too expensive.

I think he meant that they would be releasing a kit to let you use the C6 brakes.. at least I took it that way.

Maybe one of the precision brakes guys will pop in here.. what does and entire set of Z06 C6 brakes run?

Hostile?? It's a car site.. I like Type-T's.. I wanted to see a pic of your car.. how is that hostile?? I'm a visual kinda guy.. lol.. Also, Cody was really into the Z06 brakes so I thought he might "know something".. just trying to steer in a helpful direction.. I am sure someone here will pipe in.

You ran 12's? dang that's fast.. bet it wasn't on those wheels though.. lol.. again, welcome to the site..

17's are good up to a 13-inch rotor(depending on the wheel design).. after that you need 18's.. what size are the Z06 rotors?

As far as I know, the new Z06 brakes will fit behind a minimum 18" wheel. I could be wrong though. I usually am. Nice Buick, by the way. I love Grand Nationals. Talk about a wolf in sheeps clothing. I'd love a t-type, myself. It'd be fun to mess with people in grandpa's car.

Yea, I just researched and you need an 18" wheel.. Must be big ass rotors.. I wonder if Touring Specialties is working on a fitment kit since they do them for the older vette and fbody brakes?

Yep, T-Types are the way to go.. total sleeper.. you think it's one thing and it's turns out to be something else altogether... Grand Nationals are cool but since they are all black it's sorta a dead giveaway. Cool cars!

What style of driving will your car see most? Don't kid yourself, if you think 14inch brakes and 18's is going to outperform C4/C5's like CarlC(and like Cody mentioned in the thread) your fooling yourself.

But with that all aside.... I see nothing wrong with huge ass brakes if thats what your going for I think it looks badass myself but can't afford it haha

Technically its a TUrbo-T which is actually more rare than an GN. Supposedly according to the thread they are 14" front 13.5" rear, you mentinoed the looks inside of hte bigger wheels, and I'm not sure how much bigger you can go than 14"?? Also it appears his wheels are only an 1" bigger than yours. I definetly want to get rid of these huge overweight twenties!!

Not sure why these wouldn't compare to a C4 brake or C5? Obviously a car won't compare with anothers based on brakes or tires. As far as I know the 14" rotor is for more leverage/torque and acts as a bigger heat sink compared to a smaller one. I have heard the brakes complete are under $2,000 but haven't confirmed it yet hence my post here

From what I know, PB will be releasing complete kits, including these calipers, rotors, and the bracketry to bolt them onto your existing car.

What style of driving will your car see most? Don't kid yourself, if you think 14inch brakes and 18's is going to outperform C4/C5's like CarlC(and like Cody mentioned in the thread) your fooling yourself.
I'm going to disagree with you here. I'm no expert, but there is such a thing as brake torque, and the new Z06 brakes must exert a good deal more BT than the C5 brakes. I'm sure the new Z06's stopping distances are shorter than an '04. The weight of the rotors is probably a limiting factor as of now, since increased unsprung weight is never good, but with a lighter two piece rotors and a more agressive pad, most people seem to think these brakes will really perform well. Why would GM have upgraded the brakes so drastically on the '06 Z06, if the weren't going to outperform the '04 Z06 brakes? From talking with the experts, these are by no means a "bling" modification.

One thing to add here. They apparently bolt right up to the C5 bracketry. And if the Z06 uses these over the calipers the standard 'Vette runs... Well, you do the math.

I have a set of bear 4 piston caliper with a 13" rotor on front, getting the rears soon. Here's a pic I'll take a better pic with the wheel off.
