I am looking for some advice here. I am thinking of undercoating all of this sheet metal with bedliner and painting over the top. Do any of you have experience and some pros and cons of this approach? My wife wants me to coat the inside since it will be hidden under the upholstery.

The front suspension should arrive Friday so I have a big weekend ahead. I put the rearend back in so I can get the measurements I need to make sure it’s square. Also ran wiring to the rear for taillights, fuel pump and battery relocation. I wanted those routed above the wheel wells and that’s much easier before I mount the wells. I mounted a little 300 amp blade fuse in the box with the battery.

08-30-2023 #183Trying to decide where the exhaust will go. I don’t have the space available to go up and over the rear axle so I may need to terminate somewhere earlier. The panhard bar is in the way.
08-31-2023 #184Avert your eyes if you’re squeamish- Wilwood brake porn ahead. I opted for a set of 13”, ;6 piston up front. These should slow down a pony pretty good.
09-02-2023 #185I got my front end. Like the back half, it is from Checkered Racing. This is their version of a Mustang II. It came with a power rack, 2” drop spindles, QA1 sway bar and QA1 coil overs with 550# springs. Should be a stiff ride.
09-02-2023 #186Made some good progress on the front end. Got the K member welded and shot it with a coat of primer. The steering rack has been mounted and checked out. I took most of it back off because I am concerned with the weight on my homemade rotisserie. I want to paint underneath before I take it off. I have to finish the trunk and mount the fuel tank before that.
09-03-2023 #187Started working on the trunk floor. Fairly simple but I need a trap door for the battery well. The big opening is for the fuel cell that I plan to mount flush with the trunk floor.
09-04-2023 #188I nstalled the front brakes to check clearances and make sure I had all the parts. I also mocked up the steering rack and the sway bar. Everything looks pretty good at this point. I’ll find all the real clearance issues when I put the Coyote in it.
09-06-2023 #189I made the door for the battery well. Started fitting the fuel cell in place. The rotisserie interferes with the back of the tank so I’ll have to get back to this later. The intent is to mount it flush with the floor. I painted the front suspension pieces to look nice and hopefully not rust.
