5th gen console into 1st gen Camaro

I have a new console out of a 2015 Camaro and am looking into installing into my 69. Size wise, it seems like it will fit well. Before I start installing this spring, I would like to know if anyone else has attempted this install and what hurdles you went through. I do know I will need to make a plate to fit around the shifter, which I will do in aluminum or plastic. I am sure I will also need to make some brackets for mounting.



Any help would be appreciated. I will document what I do if I am successful.

There are a couple of threads on here and Lat G. I used to have one in my 68 but once I raised the tunnel I couldn’t use it anymore.

I was wondering if that was going to work, guess I need another plan for mine now when I get to that point.
