      Any bikers here?

Just wondering how many of you pro-touring guys are also into motorcycles. Sportbikes or Cruisers? I bought an '06 Harley Fatboy last week (EFI, vivid black) and plan on doing some cruising with a couple other friends that have bikes.

I haven't ridden a bike in about 17 years, but it came back to me pretty easily. These Harleys are torque monsters, fun to cruise around on.

03 V-Rod here. When you think about it, that's kinda ironic:
Mr. Carbureted Gen 1 has a kickass, high tech V-rod and,
Mr. high tech LS1 has tired old fartknocker Fatboy that can barely break into the 13's downhill. What happened?

Which part of 120HP, 38 degree rake, double frame rail, 595lb, 180 tire, pissed off pro street bike didn't you understand while you were at the dealer?

Anyway welcome back to the motorcycle world. I always have more fun on my bike.

I sold my 01 ultra classic in August. My new bagger should be here in Feb or March. It will be Jester Purple, a Jester only, special order shriner bike. Thinking of doing the 113 conversion just to be different.
Shriners can get a new one every year at a heck of a discount.

LMAO Steve. The V-rod was my 1st choice. I've always wanted one, ever since they first came out. Unfortunately, it was one of my top three choices (Road King Classic, Fatboy, V-Rod) and the Wife wasn't comfortable on the back of the V-rod. The Fatboy was my second choice, but I definitely like both bikes for what they are. I plan on adding some Fatdaddy spokes and whitewall tires to it for a more old-school look too.

I ride some. Right now I have an old Honda Nighthawk. I am selling it and looking for an older BMW. I always thought they were interesting. My wife is the rider of the family. She has a Honda Pacific Coast that she rides as much of the season that is possible here in Buffalo.

Actually she bought the PC on ebay from Riverhead down by you Steveo.

You bet here. But I am into Triumph's. Just sold my 58 T-bird hardtail and I am assembling a 69 Bonneville hardtail right now.
After much research, consideration, and experimentation, I have decided that adulthood is not for me. Thank you for the opportunity.

Understood. Yeah, H-D put an uncomfortable p-pad on the V-Rod so that:
      a. They get to sell you two motorcycles.
      b. You have a good excuse to leave the Missus at home. "Sorry honey, but I'm taking the V-rod today. You can still come if you'd like. Remember the last time we took the V-Rod? Isn't 140mph fun on the back of a motorcycle?....No? Okay, see ya later"

My wife rides so I got around that problem. She had a very uncomfortable Ducati Monster see here so the V-Rod was a step up.

Next I gotta get me one of these!! It's my deathwish, but what a way to go.

      Buell maybe?

Aside from being tiny, most riders that ive talked to who ride conventional sportbikes as well as buells have one common complaint "the engines suck" i even talked to a bike builder (does streetfighters not choppers) and he said a customer was so pissed about the anemic engine he had the guy drop in some big inch billet motor.

Still for my dollar go get a used jap 600 for 5k that'l rape a buell or any other domestic, and invest in good pain killers for your back and use the rest of the money for a lazy boy when you feel like sittin around in total comfort.

I ride a 1400 intruder. Not nearly as dressy as a harley but the shaft drive and the torque are fun.

My father and I completed a El Dorado kit bike last summer. The kit came complete with a 110 Revtec. All we had to do was paint it and put it together. It took about 4 weeks to complete. Next, we want to try a more custom chopper. I told him I need to finish my car first.

I own a buell xb12s seems fast to me. I love it too. Harley and sportbike together. I had a cbr 600 f3 for 7 years and the buell would flat kill it. I love the torque and the better seating position. Sure people complain there is lack of power, but have they even ridden one to say this or are they just reading the dyno numbers. Its not a about hp on this thing its about tq and it has lots of it.

Also not a hobbit, 6foot and feels fine.
