68 Chevelle Vent Window Weatherstripping

Has anyone had an issue with a small gap in the weatherstripping sround their vent window? I point out the location in one photo and a close up in ththe other. The weatherstripping is not marked left and right but I have swapped them to see if the gap is similar and it is. The weatherstripping only goes in one way and is fully seated. Is this gap supposed to be there?
