chevy/bop 200r4?

I heard you can get a dual pattern r4 - a chev/bop pattern that is. Is this true and does anyone know what cars these came in and how to identify one? I've got a 350 chev about to go in my firebird in the spring but I'm working on a 400 pontiac and I would to put in the transmission now as the pontiac engine will be a while. I've never dealt with anything other than a chev th350.

Any BFR coded trans out of a Buick GrandNational or T-ype has the dual bolt pattern.

Also CZ coded transmission out of 85-87 Monte Carlo SS. If you need more info on 2004Rs go to TurboBuick.com. These guys really know there stuff when it comes to the 2004R trannies

I had one in my 73 Nova SS for almost 5 years. It was built but worked great and never missed a beat. I had the lockup reversed wired so it had constant 12v power and the ground was completed by pushing in the lighter.

Thanks Rod, I got on to that site and it lead me a few different places. In case anyone digs this post up later on looking for which 200R4s to get, the performance valve bodies seem to be CZF, BRF,BQ, OZ,OG and TAF according to a few different guys on TurboBuick.com. These might be handy:

In a non-turbocharged setup go with something other than a BFR coded trans, plus they are getting hard to find and expensive. I am having a CZ trans built in Jan.
