What is the difference between the BFG Rival S and Rival S 1.5?

I know the S 1.5 is a new tire which I assume is replacing the S but I'm wondering if it is worth buying the S for less money than the S 1.5.

Compund and tread are the same. They rewound the carcass to sharpen up steering response.

BFG did this a while back with all the smaller sizes, they are just now getting around to doing the 275/315/335s.

I have heard differing stories as to whether or not the 1.0 will continue to exist.

Rumor has it that the 1.5 sharper response is great for the front of the car but on the rear it doesn't put down power as well on corner exit. I haven't driven on them yet.

If you are not looking to pick up fractions of a second, save the money and buy the cheaper version.
