      another newb

hey guys, just another hopefull here. I have a 70 SS 396 chevelle that I got my senior year of HS (99-00). It was my uncles, then my dads, now mine. I tore it down several years ago for a little resto. A 3month project that has turned into 4 years... you know how that goes. I got distracted and built several cars between, inluding a couple sport trucks, and an 02 Camaro SS, but classic cars will always be my passion.

Anyway, I'm hoping to have it back on the streets by spring at the latest. Right now its got a stockish 402 and a 700r-4, and the suspension was rebuilt not long before I tore it down. I picked up a 454 shortblock a month ago (free! :D) that I will be turning into a procharged 496. I'm undecided on the tranny since it needs a rebuild anyway, might swap it for a manual. My goal is something that is equally comfortable on the street, the strip and the roadcourse. But enought rambling, heres a couple pics of the car. A work in progress obviously. It will be silver with black SS stripes.

Welcome aboard, glad to see another A-body (we're taking over!)

What's your name though? We're big on names.
