Going rate for a ls7 with forged internals

I came across a ls7 built by a well known shop with all forged internals for sale. The motor has about 3000 miles on it and looks to be the case. It’s only a shortblock at the moment and has no oil pump or timing chain, it has a cover though. He’s including a set of heads that are not from that motor but will work, the are black label 6 bolt ls3 heads fully assembled with rocker stands and rockers, they look almost brand new. Comes with a cam as well.

Looking to see what this might be priced at, he’s asking $6000 after we haggled a bit. It sells as a shortblock for $8500 from the shop but he’s including heads too. Is this a good deal and how much more might it cost to have a complete motor peiceing it togethe? Also want to convert to a wet sump but that’s not too big a deal.

      Is it actually a LS7 or a LS3 that displaces 427 cubes?

It’s a ls7 block. Heads are extra too, just found out but he said he’d give a good deal on it.

So $6k for just the block with the internals? With only 3k mikes I would question why it’s torn down.
