Which tires would you choose?...Nittos or Falkens or Other

I am going to run 275/50R-17s out back & the choices are: Nitto NT-450 Extreme Performance & Falken Ziex S/TZ-01. Here are some specs: Nittos...UTQG: 300AA, V speed rated, & are classified as ultra high performance all-season tire. Falkens...UTQG: 420AA, H speed rated, & are supposed to get 50,000 miles. I was leaning towards the Nittos myself but want some others to comment.

Now for the fronts I am thinking some 235/50R-17s or 255/45R-17s but leaning to the 235s because i am not sure how the 255s will fit on the front of my 79 Cutlass. I want one of these because of the 26+ height & the sidewall with 17s looks just right IMO. What out of the many tires for the fronts would you choose? Keep in mind what my rears will be.

I'd like to add that I have the XH steering box, will have the 12" b-body brakes, & don't have a problem with triming my fender lips a little. I figure on notching my frame an inch or so in the rear & maybe trimming the lip as well. The rims will most likely be ($895 shipped) Classic Torq Thrust IIs 17x9.5 & 17x8 with 5in. b.s. at all corners. Tell me what ya think! -Ethan
