      Pipe material question

      Hello everyone.

Recently completed an 6.0L LQ4 swap with an LS3 cam and valvesprings in my 86 monte ss. I'm running a full length stainless 1 3/4 in header with 3in slip fit collectors. Currently I have the engine hooked up the old crappy exhaust 2 1/4 in aluminized tube and thrush turbo mufflers. I'm sure im killing a lot of power with that exhaust.

My question comes down to material. Stainless or Steel. The car is an occasional driver in the summer and my autox car, wont see snow or rain (unless i get caught in it) the aluminized steel has held up just fine for the past 12 years. I'm set on 3 inch with Magnaflow straight through mufflers and No crossover.

Is stainless worth the extra scratch?
