At my work we have put in quite a few Pertronix units to replace points. Easy enough to install and not bad for the money.

I'm guessing you have a Mustang then? Based off the 67coupe in your name?

I had a factory magnetic pickup Ford distributor in my 66 Mustang. The pickup went bad on me, even though I never drove it all that much. I was also watching the latest Rotsun Roadkill, and they had the same issue with that pickup on their 5.0, so based off what I've seen so far, I'd stay away from that setup.

The MSD box and distributor has done me well. I also just put a Pertronix distributor in the 390 in my Edsel because I wanted more tunability over the stock distributor (that I also put a Pertronix module in). I'm happy with both methods of Pertronix, though I like the new dizzy as it's billet... looks prettier than the stock on, and is more tunable.
