It looked like one side of the tunnel next to the trans was taller. Is that correct? If so, why?

It'd be cool to get a "builder bio", Nick...something about how you got into this (I read about your first car purchase...I didn't have the presence of mind to save $15k then and I probably still don't now), how/where you learned/honed your skills, why you use certain things for your builds, some brief details about your equipment, etc. I read the Chevelle build but not every single post so maybe I missed a lot of this.

You know, because you have time to write things for my benefit rather than working on another badass car build.

Anyway, awesome builds all around - quite literally the stuff of dreams for guys like me. Thanks for documenting it all!

Put the main floors in, formed out of 1/4" plywood and fiberglassed in initially I planned to use steel or aluminum floors but changed my mind and decided to try something different and keep it all fiberglass since it's a corvette grabbed 5 gallons of resin and a bulk roll of chopped mat from a local supply house and went at it came out better than expected

Man I HATE messing with glass....

I like that your keeping in line with original since its a fiberglass car. But boy that's dedication, much rather work with metal any day lol. ITCH for days

Love the transitions at the floors! Did you router/round the top edge of the trans tunnel?

Does the wood become a permanent part of the floor now?

Yes tryed to have no shap edges so the glass would lay down and no want to keep peeling up, and yes the wood is staying in there I will fiberglass the underside as well after I take the body off the chassis

Curious, did you screw wood buck to steel cage/frame?

yes engine and trans have to come out together there was no way to make the trans come out without the engine and still have room for seats, this car is small and tight, realistically the technology now how often do you really change a clutch

there was some additional support underneath to hold everything straight until the glass work was done but nothing permanately attaching the wood or fiberglass to steel
