      Newb

Hello all, I know a few people on here already. But here's an introduction to one of my cars.

My project over the winter is to put a LS1/T56 into my 67 Camaro. I work at a large LS1 shop so the drivetrain parts are quite easy to attain. Its currently sitting as a rolling chassis, but the new powerplant is sitting on an engine stand waiting for the next step. This car has been through quite a few different engine/transmission setups since I've owned it such as a 355ci/TH350 383ci/700R4 and the last one was a ZZ4 350 with modded Vortec Heads, and another 700R4. The last one had about 2-3 miles on it when I pulled it out, the others lasted a few hundred miles before being retired.

The chassis has all new suspension, poly bushings thoughout the whole car. Comp Eng. Subframe connectors. I just installed 3.73 gears in the 10-bolt, but may end up with a 9" or 12-bolt if I am too hard on it. :D I will be ordering/making the main conversion parts through Dec/Jan and should have it running in Feb.

The current plans after the initial install are to have my friends at HP Performance built a single turbo kit similiar to their Fox-body Mustang kit that is very popular with the 'stang ppl. I happen to have one of those too which I race with when its together. (11.1 @ 121mph) The Camaro should be a little faster than that though, if I take it to the track that is. My thinking is, that if I'm spending lots of cash for conversion headers already, why not have turbo's on the end of them.

Welcome to the site, Joseph. Keep us posted on your car, and on the turbo progress. I will be building a single turbo setup in my '68 (LSX powered) within the next 6 months or so. I'd like to see what / how you and HP Performance route some stuff.

Thanks Ralph, I will certainly take a few pics here and there. The turbo stuff may be the easiest thing to do if the major pre-existing hot-side parts will work from other cars. But if not then its just a little more work on their part. HP wants to do twins, and I'd rather have a single, but who knows what I end up with in 6 months time. There is plenty of room for twins as you prob. know.

Welcome aboard, Joseph. I've got memories of Lubbock from back in the day.
