Mounting the computer....how'd you do it?

I am interested in hearing how people doing this conversion mounted their computer. I have heard of some having a longer harness custom made and then mounting it inside the car. If that is the route you took, how did you do that? Did you buy a custom mounting bracket or modify the stock one? What company did you use to have the harness custom made? Also, is there perhaps a company now doing a conversion kit for just this type of modification? Sorry...been out of the game for 7 years and need to play some catch-up.

I had been mounting them above the glove box liner, but recently started putting it on top of the trans hump against the firewall. There's a good spot in the trans tunnel just inside the opening to the firewall on the pass side. I have some pics but they are on flckr, and I cant seem to copy & paste them.

if you have a center console put it under there. I mount mine on the wall side of the passanger AC vent above it and above the glove box. I just made a little L bracket and done. I dont have pic sorry

You may want to tell us which pcm that you have? (ie Gen III "411" style or Gen IV E38, E67 )

It will make a difference where you can put it, due to pcm size

I am running a Gen III "411" pcm and had the harness made by BP Automotive, grommet to running through firewall (behind intake manifold) and pcm is mounted under gauges in 5th Gen center console on trans hump with GM pcm holder, modified
All engine harness fuse box and relays are mounted right above the accelerator pedal, slightly inward, for easy access/ servicing

I had mine mounted on the firewall above the passenger footwell. When I did my Vintage Air install, I had to move it. Not wanting to cut and splice every wire to move it very far, I ended up putting mine in the glovebox with the fuse panel for easy access.

I moved the battery to the trunk and had a box made in place of the battery. Then mounted the computer and fuse box to that.

I just moved mine into the car and mounted it under the center console since there is plenty of space.
