Unless you are trying to go out an win the autocross I don't see how these two couldn't coexist. A decently sorted car is going to be a blast to autocross whether or not it has a chance at winning. I guess it depends on your goals for the car.

I agree completely. You can autocross with any car, but if you're trying to be consistently win your class, that seems like you would probably need a more track dedicated vehicle.
