      69 camaro complete chassis feedback...

building a 69 pro touring car.
need some feedback on the best (quality and pricing).
want to run 20 rear 18/19 front (widest/tallest possible)...prefer using the stock floor pans but frame rails/tank etc can go.
art morrison? chassis works?rs? allston?..who has used what (and any for sale).
not using for track, show and go street only with ls3 set uo.
it is a convertible and prefer to not use a roll cage.
      thanks for any help.

I have used Art Morrison front and rear clips along with their weld in subframe connectors which is close to a full frame.

have you used the rs chassis?
On the art morrison frnt/rear/sub did you use the 3 4 or irs rear set up? And do the sub connectors hang down under the car rockers?

I have not used the RS chassis. I used the IRS and the subframe connectors are recessed and welded into the floors similar to DSE and do not hang below the rockers.

Leaning towards the rs kit.........3g cheaper than schwartz (no offens) and the frame looks to be more of a ridged design especialy with this being a vert and no cage.
The 9 inch looks fine..the irs rear would be nice but the price puts it out of my clients range and prob use.
Who if any body has the deepest deal on the rs set up?
      Thanks for the input guys.

RS only sells direct as far as I know so no deals out there.

      Rs

I have just purchased an SPEC RS chassis for my 68 FB and although not installed yet, the quality is great and requires no welding. The advice from other car guys I know with new subframes and connectors was get a full chassis.

Email Roadster Shop they are helpful.

You might also want to do some research on optimum wheel diameter. If you are just doing a PT build to look cool then big wheels make no real difference. If however you are after the best possible performance most here go with 18" wheels because that is all that is required to clear big brakes. There have been extensive discussions on wheel size, MOI (Moment of Inertia) and how it effects performance. Think heavy flywheel vs light flywheel.
