I talked to several builders about an engine build up-to and including road racing. None of them mentioned an ls7 as the first choice for a reliable or cost-affective option.



Just out of curiosity, why do you want 550hp to the tires? Are you participating in events where the reason you aren't competitive is lack of power? Or is this a street car and you feel like doing rolling burnouts on the highway?

I feel 550 would likely give me the power I want, but not overly to the point the car is not practical to drive. I want bigger cubes so the power was lower in the power band. My LS1 is quick, but it doesn't really come to life until 4,000 rpms to 6800. If I'm gonna go through the work, I want it to be the last engine swap I do for years to come
