drip rails / molding

Hey fellas. I have a 69 camaro. Mine has the bottom polished drip rail going across the rockers and again up top on the roof lines. I'm loving how clean some guys camaros look with out it on. If I were to remove mine would it leave visible holes that would be seen? Appreciate any input.

I've personally haven't done them but unfortunately my 69 nova I bought had them cut off by previous owner hoping to make them look good check out videos on YouTube I've seen. A few there being done

The op is talking about the stainless trim, not the actual drip rail.

And yes, the lower trim has a couple of holes under it. The drip rail molding does not. However, the paint may not be in the best shape underneath the trim.

it will probably look worse without the trim unless you completely remove the lip. the lower has five or six holes down each side of the car. I removed both on my firebird, the finished result is much cleaner. you can see photos in my build thread of how I removed mine.

Google some pictures, a lot of cars don't have the trim but still have the drip rails.

Mine were left on scuffed up. Epoxy primered with car and painted. Look great 15 years later.

Proper removal involves cutting a few inches at a time & tack welding, them welding up & smoothing out. I think front pillar needs a filler strip on yours if done that way.

appreciate it guys. Yes I'm just talking about the polished strip on the bottom of rocker, the gills and the aluminum rails going around each fender.

The only trim on mine is the bottom rocker spear.
