      Lawn Mowing Headphones

Ok. So I was at the Big Orange Box the other day and saw some pretty heavy looking headphones that had a radio built into them. I like to listen to music while I mow. (I don't like to think...it gets me in trouble) Has anyone ever used anything like these? I get sick of turning the radio up loud enough to drown out the sound of the mower....not to mention it is hazardous.

I just wear a set of cheap ear muffs (like ones in pic) over my in-ear head phones. Alot cheaper and works great.

      Josh,

You got me going now...... I just bought a new mower and I am as excited as if I finished my car. She's red and fast and cuts great... I'm in love!

I swear I love mowers almost as much as bikes and cars ..... is that sick?

I went to Target and got noise-cancelling amplified earplug headphones for my CD player. It takes it's own AAA battery and has its own volume control. To this, I added the Case Logic fanny pack CD player holder with the trick headphone jack built in.

I also wear the earmuffs over the earplug headphones, and with the amplified noise-cancelling deal and the CD player both cranked to max volume, I am in a world of my own as I pilot the John Deere over my 2 acre lawn. I can also keep this apparartus on as I empty the double-bagger.

The true beauty? One CD and 1 beer last as long as it takes to fill the bagger. Empty the cuttings, reload a Corona, change the CD, back to it. It's bliss.

The wife thinks I'm nuts, but she loves how nice the grass looks. All good...!

Next- my first winter with the John Deere snowblower hookup on the mower...the same audio setup should work fine...and my beer will stay colder.

I love this stuff. I feel kinda Hank Hill sometimes, but that ain't all bad, is it?
