      1968 GTO LS Swap

      Hello All,

This is my first post, have been watching other threads for awhile getting ideas. After a few months of searching i found the project i had been waiting for. Its a 1968 Pontiac GTO all original panels, No Rust, 100% Arizona Car originally build in the CA Plant. It had been a frame on restoration by an older gentleman in the last few years. The paint was fresh, interior clean, and had a rebuild 350 out of a 72 vette attached to a TH400. Now originally Pontiac refused to ever put a 350 in their GTO's so i don't feel bad tossing it out for some more modern power in the form of a LS2 out of a newer gen 2006 GTO. Of course you can never stop there, with the new power meant the old drums had to go, along with a better fuel and cooling system, to get the power to the ground a T56 out of a 2002 Camaro, and a Currie 9" with 4.11 gears. As for the breaks i went with Wilwood Disc's all around with big 6 piston calipers in the front. To help car stick to the ground im running full ridetech stage 2 coilover suspension with beefy front and rear sway bars, upgrading to 18x8 / 18x9 foose rims with 265/45 / 295/45 Nitto tires. Currently car is not on the ground still doing some firewall and transmission tunnel modifications, but hoping to have the car completed early july.
