New Z06 at the Drag strip

This was a local track event that we had. It was the first time out for the Z06. He doesn't have the run on his video but he did make a pass in the 11.90's. My car is the silver E55. My best run of the day was 11.70 at 120, not bad for a 4 door family car. The one pass of my car on the video is my third hot lap. The SC benz doesn't run that great when it's hot.

It was the first and the last. I ran 11.72 on the first and 11.70 on the last. Most of the times were from 11.75 to 11.81. The 11.97 was my slowest of the day. I made a total of about 15 runs. Nothing like beating the h*ll our of a Merc.

Ummmm...that makes me very afraid of Mercedes Barges...I never knew they were that fast!!! You can expect fast in a Vette, but a 4 door luxury sedan that has to come close to 4000 lbs!...GEEeeezzzzz

      Derrick,

I had a 2000 E55, Man what a car. The new SC'd versions must be unbelievable. Just keep pullin don't they. If you pull up next to any Mercedes that has that AMG badge on it, you better reach down and tighten the belts cause your in for a fight.

Good to see guys with high dollar cars running them hard. I usually just see them parked at Starbuck's.

The Vette was a 6spd. Not too bad of a driver but not great. He couldn't get the car off the line. There's a couple of runs on there that a friend of his is driving it and he's not hitting it too well. We have a good group of MB guys that don't mind beating on their cars. BTW, the benz weighs in at 4100lbs without me in it, so it is heavy. I love the car for the fact that most guys don't expect to see a 4100lbs luxo sedan run in the 11's. The Syclone was bad as*. He ran in the 10's all day. It was trailered to the track though.

Last time I was at the drags there was a woman driving a brand new E55 wagon with baby seats in the back that dialed 12.49 and went to the semi-finals in the street class. Pretty damn impressive.

You know what I think is impressive. This car runs 11's. 0-60mhp in 3.7sec. Also with a top speed over 190mph. And it idles smooth, gets good gas milage, and has great street manners.

PS Who wants to give me $70,000 so I can have my own?
