      Sway Bar Mounting Problem!

I bought a new rear sway bar for my 66 Chevelle and it seems that the geometry isn't working out. The LCAs seem to be a 1/2" too close together and the sway bar won't fit in between them. The rear end brackets have been modified, so it seems that they were mounted just too close together, not allowing the space (the rear end was not in the car previously).

Is there a way of getting A/ANY sway bar to work without having to deal with relocating the mounting brackets? Maybe some kind of 3 piece set-up?

Check out the chassis mounted rear sway bar from Hellwig. SC&C is a dealer and Marc is great to talk to.

Pictures would help. Do you have the Stock LCAs?

      Sway Bar Mounting Problem!

Thanks Nick. I'm using Aftermarket arms up and down. The frame mounting points are stock.

We have a chassis mounted sway bar that would work regardless of modifications to the LCA's

Brand of control arms and brand of swaybar might be helpful for troubleshooting.

      Hellwig 55864

What you need is a Hellwig 55864 tubular bar. It doesn't mount to the control arms, it mounts to the axle tubes and has 3 adjustable positions to help with tuning the handling. It also doesn't bind up the rear suspension like the factory mounted bar. Here's a picture.
