I have ran the McLeod dual disc for years. I believe mine would be dual 10" discs. Its a good street clutch, the effort is a little heavy, it like any heavy duty clutch, but not excessively so, and it holds my 700 rwhp all day long in a 3600 lb car.

Mine also will smell like burning clutch if you slip it off hte line a lot or when you are goofing around backing up and slipping it. I've never worn one out yet though, but I'm not putting thousands of stop and go miles on it.

I never really noticed the burning smell until I went to a 3:00 gear in the back, and I have to slip it a little more, before I cuold just drive around on/off'ing it very easily with no slip. It is really only noticeable when you are waiting in an uphill line for stop sign.

I've always wondered if those carbon/carbon clutches could makeup the difference between the small normal racing clutch discs which will not last nor drive on the street.

But even though you have now confirmed that it does work well for street driving, that's just too damn much money !

I've been in Columbus at the Mopar Nats. Had to go to Detroit to look at a company I'm going to buy and pick up the extra carbon fiber front end I had built in case of a tragedy. Rich Chenet shot the Cuda for a European broker that sells photos and articles to magazines worldwide. Rich is really fast. he did the whole shoot in an afternoon. We probably started shooting at 3:30 and he got finished. We did some of the shoot at the Airport. He had this Camera with a monster lens that looked like a rocket launcher. Rich kinda has that mid eastern look about him too. I called the airport security to have them come out..Him standing out there pointing that thing would have looked pretty scary to someone that didn't know what it was. Josh with Buckaroo is at Alan's shooting the Cuda today. I've got to get back on the clutch deal today. I'd buy the Tilton but they don't have a flywheel and they don't have time to make one..clutch won't do me any good without a flywheel. It's really what I need but I'll have to settle on something else.

I've had numerous people accuse us of copying Chrysler's CUDA, dubbed a Challenger..Fact is, my car was at the Nov 05 SEMA Show cosmetically complete, though not running. It won a Chrysler design award!!! First photos that I'm aware of on their CHALLENGER/Cuda, was in Jan 06..There are some similarities..but is it by chance or did someone copy someone else? It's obvious we surely didn't copy them..doesn't really matter to me..if they did, it should make Chris Itoh proud to think that a whole design team would think enough of his work to use it as a guide. I don't blame them. Chris Itoh is an unsung hero in my book..

      Oh... Come on Bob....

We all know that you “compelled" a Ford design engineer to leave the company, and take a job at Chrysler just to get you "early" pre production photos of the new Challenger.

      Very crafty of you.

From what I understand, Josh Johnson (no relation, or is he...) left Ford in the summer of 92. As we can see your evil plan had been in the works for years. And to make sure that his trail was covered, he took a job as a Wal-Mart greeter for 3 years. After which Josh fell off the map and did not reappear until the fall of 04 at a Wabaunsee Middle School job fair where he negotiated himself an interview with the original Challenger design team.

      The rest is automotive history.

Deny it if you can… :-)

      On another topic....

How is post "Street Machine of the Year" life treating you? Still getting calls from all the groupies? Everyone calling asking you to bring the Cuda to their event? People offering up their first born just for a ride around the block?

In any event, I hope you are enjoying the fruit of all your long hard efforts. Hopefully, next time I see you, now that all the pressure is off, you will be in a more relaxed state of mind.

Hot Rod mag. is supposed to have Rich Chenet at Maxton to shoot it in late Sept. It will be in race trim there...

Life is treating me better than I deserve. Are you going to Putnam Park for Air Rides deal in a couple of weeks? Great track to check your car out..I'm going but i'm very nervous about it..Scott Pruitt is going to be there and wants to put the Cuda thru it's paces. I have to be in Pigeon Forge 1 day after Putnam Park for The Shades of The Past Show. They've opened it to 1972 this year. Thank goodness they're having early and late car of the year. I'd hate to go up against Dale Boesch's 38 Chev. We'll be back at SEMA...probably PRI again too...

Glad to hear things are going well.

As far as the Air Rides thingy, this is the first I heard of it. In a couple of weeks??? If it is the first weekend of Sept, I will probably be at the MCA 30th annaversary show.

It looks like we will be in the MagnaFlow display at SEMA. Right at the entrance to the "Overhaulin" display.

Wayne is just returning from the Woodward Dream Cruise. We were in the Ford "Team Mustang" display.

If we don't make it to the air ride event, it looks like we might run into each other at SEMA. If we do, I would like to take you out for diner. Call it a "day late and Dollar short" celibration for the winner of SMOTY as well as a thank you for your hospitality when Wayne and his daughter were down in your neck of the woods.

I was going to wait until Marty Mcguire (Cyborg TT)and his friends and builders at Revolution Industries (Adam and Ian) www.rev-in.com got all the site up but I guess I'll jump in and say I just can't believe what they've done and how fast they've done it. All of this was done in about a week. I had looked on Marty's site www.sportmachines.com and saw a multitude of Cuda pix. I ask him who sent them to him..he had just scrounged them wherever he could find them. I ask if I sent him some more if he would post them. He said he would do one better, he would just set me up my own site. Viola..here it is..can't believe it was this painless and fast. I can't thank them enough for their fine work. I recommend them highly.. Everytime I had worked on a site with some other guys it was a long tedious frustrating ordeal..Thanks again....damn Howell...I thought you wanted this thread to die ...

Sometime back you mentioned that you guys used a Weldon pump on the car do you know what design or model it is and where is it mounted internally or externally, I looked through the pictures and didn't see the fuel delivery system. Who did the finish on the center of the wheels and what's it called
I like the cooling system it cleans it up nicely. Bill this thread is still alive.
