I've seen the hand you're playing..you can't bs a bser..some of these guys haven't been to your not so humble abode..I have..got your own race track/motorcross track in the back yard and the house sits about a drag strip or more off the road..

Guys like you and Charley and others are an inspiration to people like me. Think about it. We see pictures of your garages, the cars are usually in the magazines, and we drool over them. I wasn't originally going to do a PT car, but after seeing so many fine examples, the bug hit and hit hard. I am now probably spending five times what I though I would, but in the end, the car will be far superior from its former self. If I went to Barnes and Noble and saw a magazine cover with 1979 Ford Fairmont on it, I probably wouldn't buy it. No inspiration. You guys have collections that inspire. I doubt there is a person here that doesn't dream of having their own killer garage full of top notch cars. It gives us a goal to shoot for.

my iligimate ******* son, AKA Bob Johnson who resides just west of Atlanta, professes to be the REAL BOB JOHNSON, is trying to post his all aluminum twin turbo big block Camaro on this site. He can't seem to get the site to respond..his email is [email protected] ...Bobby has had some cool cars and for a long time held records in the NMCA in a Nova of his. His Camaro is going to be a bad boy. He promises to kick my fanny..I just wish he'd learn how to drive a straight shift and get three pedals in the floor..I just want to get him in a curve and watch those turbos come alive..merry go round..

One thing I have never understood is hunting possums. Guys will have hundreds of dollars in hunting dogs, Stay out all night to hunt possum. Then the sport is to "tree" them or a ****. If they do catch one, they let them go. Stupid sport, if I do say so myself.

thanks a bunch..I hate to read in magazines guys writing in complaining about the big buck builds..they want more on backyard budget stuff. When I was raising my children and cars weren't a priority, I used to read magazines and dream of the day I could afford and justify spending the bucks it took to build a top notch car. I got crazier and crazier and decided before the big buck bug hit street machines that had already hit hot rods, I wanted to build the best there ever was street machine. How many people can say I had the best of anything that ever was? Well I think Alan has done it..I'm sure there are naysayers, but the feedback from most of the top builders that were @ SEMA supported my opinion. I just hope this car gives inspiration to car guys and gives them motivation to work and move forward. Big buck guys buying up muscle cars just makes the cars on the lower rungs more valuable. They are good for the sport. Whoever heard of anyone wanting the stockmarket to go down where you could afford to buy. The Barrett Jacksons, Mecums, R&M's, Russo Steeles, Kruses, Silvers, etc are good for the game. If you can't afford a first gen Camaro, go to the second gen. Each one that goes up makes the next less valuable one go up too. Get in at the level you can afford, do some cool stuff to it and don't knock the big guns that are bringing all the values up. keep humping and you will be the big boy one day. Like Charlie

kind of like fishing..the sport is the catch, not the kill..now the other west Ga. Bob Johnson will ketch,kill, and have a mighty fine meal off it..that's the original motivation for having a fast car, the coons couldn't get out of the way...

I've spent most of my life playing with cars, trucks and mountain bikes. I even had a 3,000 dollar frame on a bike that i pedaled. Most of my friends used to say, oh look at that guy and his big dollar bike. What they didn't realize was at night or during the day i was alway's looking and thinking of way's to make money. When i was 16 i built my first truck. I worked two job each day so i could afford the things i wanted. I learned early that if you want something then you and only you are the one that can make it happen.

I commend people that build there dreams and make them happen. It's even nicer when the builder/owner is down to earth and doesn't flaunt it in everyone face. You have got to be one of the best car owner/builder i've ever seen on the net. You fit in like a regular guy and that is how it should be. It's not what you have or have not it's what you do with what you have.

Okay enough of my Doctor Suess rambling (just read one of his books to my kids) thanks for being one of the regular guy's and sharing with us your build and your idea's.

I just can't wait to see more pics of the build so i can get more idea's.

I would like to see or know more info on the floor of the car. Also more info on why you went with a removable firewall. I think the idea is killer!!!

The car appears to be sectioned up towards the front and added to in the rear.....do you have any bare metal shots of the car before you sent the front fenders off to be made out of carbon fiber....

The rear body panel was ready for paint. The surface was built up .020" using tooling wax and the mold was made from this surface. The finished part is just .030" and fit perfect. Doug Groh of 3 G Services in MI did all the carbon work. He is a member here but I don't know his user name.

The main floors that go from the center tunnel to the side rails aren't removable. Everything else is removable. I will try and find some better photos.

I would like to see or know more info on the floor of the car. Also more info on why you went with a removable firewall. I think the idea is killer!!!

I wanted the look of the machined firewall was the main reason. It really isn't a removable part once the car is assembled. The steel cowl of the car was modified for the aluminum firewall to bolt to. The firewall is not only a structural part of the body,but also ties the body to the roll cage where the front down tube is located.

The top of the door bar on the rollcage looks like it was cut out and there is another layer underneath it. I am wondering what the function of that is.
